Climate cultist rejected for Federal Reserve Board

Biden nominee Sarah Bloom Raskin withdraws her candidacy for Federal Reserve board

    • Sarah Bloom Raskin, President Joe Biden’s embattled nominee to the Federal Reserve, withdrew her candidacy to serve at the central bank.
    • Raskin’s withdrawal ends a weekslong partisan battle in the Senate over her views on climate policy.
    • The move came a day after Sen. Joe Manchin, a conservative Democrat from West Virginia, said he could not support her nomination.
    • Biden had picked Raskin — a former Fed governor and deputy Treasury secretary — to be the Fed’s next vice chair for supervision, one of the world’s most powerful banking regulators.

Florida Doctor: “Hospitals are blocking Ivermectin.” Politics and medicine don’t mix.

Liberals in San Francisco can’t keep the streets clean of human feces, but they have managed to economically isolate themselves from half the states over liberal fantasy issues.

San Francisco is boycotting businesses in more than half the states

“…It’s virtue signaling at a city-wide scale and it’s probably not doing anything except making things more expensive for the city of San Francisco.

Back in 2016 the San Francisco Board of Supervisors enacted chapter 12X of the city’s administrative code. That rule prohibits the city from funding any travel to certain states with anti-LGBT laws and also prevented the city from making contracts with businesses in those states. Texas was added to the boycott over a law which prohibited trans athletes from competing in sports.

In 2019, chapter 12X was expanded to include more states, this time those who weren’t sufficiently supportive of abortion rights. New Hampshire was added to the list because it recently passed a law banning abortion at 24 weeks.

In 2021, chapter 12X was amended again to prevent travel and business with states with “voter suppression laws.”

As a result of all of this, the city of San Francisco is now boycotting business with more than half the states. A memo issued earlier this month by the City Administrator included list of the states where the city can and cannot do business

…Does any of this matter? A story published yesterday by Mission Local says no one really knows.

It will come as little surprise to anyone familiar with the M.O. of San Francisco government that we have no tests nor audits nor analysis nor methodology to determine if our travel bans or boycotts are making any difference for the good.

In 2016, the idea may have been to set a precedent that others would follow. But other cities haven’t followed San Francisco’s lead. And the city’s budget, while large, isn’t big enough to have a significant impact on half of the Unites States…”

Poll: 51/35 support level for restricting discussions of sexual orientation and gender identity below the fourth-grade level. Plus, previous ABC poll apparently cooked to reinforce preferred narrative.

Politico/Morning Consult poll shows majority support for Florida sex-ed limits

“In both instances, support was considerably higher among Republican registered voters, but there was also backing from independent voters. Seventy percent of GOP voters, for example, supported banning the teaching of sexual orientation and gender identity in lower grades compared to 51 percent of Democrats who opposed the legislation. The poll found that 46 percent of independent voters supported the ban compared to 35 percent who opposed it…

…Outside of explicitly Democrat/progressive categories (and Gen-Z), there’s no significant opposition to this bill. It’s the opponents speaking from the political fringe that want teachers to ply gender theory and orientation issues into elementary-school sex ed, especially when it comes to kids under the age of 10.”…

…“So what happened in that ABC-Ipsos poll this week? That one supposedly showed Americans in widespread opposition to the Florida legislation, but it smelled bad from the start. ABC and Ipsos acknowledged that they had oversampled LGBTQ respondents in a 622-person sample, a very strange outcome for a supposedly scientific poll of randomly surveyed Americans (not registered voters). As I suggested on Monday, this looks like a cooked sample that intended to deliver an editorial narrative rather than tell the truth…

…So when do we get an explanation from ABC-Ipsos about their true methodology and the conditions under which they conducted the earlier poll?”…”

Woke cowardly Sierra Club gives in to liberal anti-Israel demands

Environmentalists Give in to Anti-Semitic Pressure Campaign, Cancel Israel Trip

“…The environmentalist group Sierra Club has scrapped scheduled trips to Israel under pressure from left-wing anti-Israel organizations.

In an email distributed by the group and obtained by the Jewish News of Northern California, the Sierra Club announced that it was canceling the trips after facing accusations from activists that it was “greenwashing the conflict” and “providing legitimacy to the Israeli state, which is engaged in apartheid against the Palestinian people.”

A “Jewish-American activist” reached out to the Sierra Club to pressure it to cancel trips to Israel, the group said. After the Sierra Club rebuffed the demands, the activist enlisted a host of left-wing and anti-Israel groups, including Jewish Voice for Peace, the Sunrise Movement, and the Movement for Black Lives, in a pressure campaign against the environmentalist group.

Sierra Club officials met with members of the anti-Israel coalition, “who insisted that there was no room for compromise” and threatened to “go public that the organization was violating the organizational values it recently rolled out” if it did not promptly cancel the Israel trips.

Sierra Club acting executive director Dan Chu agreed to scrap the trips on the recommendation of two members of a group he appointed to address the demands…”

Democrats and media can no longer squeeze political capital from this disease. They give up on it as a monster. Putin is a good short-term alternative. Climate is the preferred recurring bogeyman.

One of my favorite renditions from Diana Krall below:

I don’t agree with Tulsi Gabbard all the time, but I like her. She is real. I support her against the consummate disappointment that is Mitt Romney.

Gabbard calls on Romney to ‘resign’ or provide evidence for his ’treasonous’ claim about her

She is the farthest thing from treasonous you could find.

Romney is a cockamamie jerk that was broken by Trump.

Amendments by Acclamation: Democrats Move to Simply Declare the Equal Rights Amendment as Ratified

“…Below is my column in the Hill on the Democratic campaign to simply declare the Equal Rights Amendment ratified as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution. The question is whether raw politics is enough to shock the unratified and undead into life.

Here is the column:

Madison, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin: The names of great constitutional figures are etched in the minds of every schoolchild. But soon, if Democrats in Congress have their way, they will add one more: David Ferriero.

Who is David Ferriero, you ask? He is 10th Archivist of the United States. He also may be the man who unilaterally declares the long-dead Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) not just alive but now part of our Constitution as the 28th Amendment.

Democratic leaders like Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.), chair of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, want Ferriero to simply publish the ERA in the Federal Register as a ratified amendment. It isn’t, of course. However, these Democrats insist that a unilateral decision from Ferriero declaring it ratified would mean it is ratified … at least until some courts say otherwise. And they are calling on President Biden to support this dubious move toward amendments by archival acclamation.

Such muscle plays have become common in the last two years. Democratic members and advocacy groups have pushed to pack the Supreme Court with an instant liberal majority. They have sought to negate state election laws and impose their own federal election standards on states.

These efforts have one thing in common: They avoid having the issues addressed by the voters directly or by the states.

This one makes the other efforts look restrained by comparison, however. Rather than submit a new ERA to the states, Democratic leaders want Ferriero to just declare it a done deal…”
