Here is the Biden Administration on vaccine mandates up until last week. I think these folks forgot that what they were saying was being recorded. Does this increase your trust in what government officials say or reduce it?

Highlights:

    • Biden, in December 2020: When asked if he wanted “vaccines to be mandatory,” Biden responded: “No, I don’t think it should be mandatory. I wouldn’t demand it be mandatory.”
    • Dr. Rochelle Walensky, CDC Director, in May 2021: When asked if the admin was “counting on businesses to do vaccine mandates,” Walensky responded: “We’re not counting on vaccine mandates at all. It may very well be that local businesses, local jurisdictions will work toward vaccine mandates. That is going to be locally driven and not federally driven.”
    • Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, U.S. Surgeon General, in July 2021: When asked if the admin wanted private companies to follow the admin’s lead of making federal workers get vaccinated, Murthy responded: “And those are decisions the federal government is not going to make. It is going to be institutions that make them.”
    • Dr. Anthony Fauci, NIAID Director, in August 2021: “You’re not going to see a central mandate coming from the federal government, but you’re going to see more universities, colleges, places of business, who once they get the cover of an officially approved vaccine, they’re going to start mandating vaccines.”
    • Jen Psaki, in July 2021: When asked if federal government should “step in and issue mandates,” Psaki responded in-part: “…that’s not the role of the federal government; that is the role that institutions, private-sector entities, and others may take.”
    • Fauci, in August 2020: When asked if he would “support a nationwide mandate of a COVID vaccine once it comes out,” responded: “No, definitely not. You don’t want to mandate and try to force anyone to take the vaccine, we’ve never done that. You can mandate for certain groups of people, like healthcare workers, but for the general population you can’t. Now here at our own hospital, at the NIH, we get influenza vaccines and if you refuse for no good reason other than you just don’t want to take it. Then we don’t allow you to see patients on the wards during influenza season. So, that’s a mandate. But, we don’t want to be mandating from the federal government to the general population, it would be unenforceable and inappropriate.”
    • Walensky, in July 2021: In clarifying remarks that she gave during an interview, Walensky tweeted: “To clarify: There will be no nationwide mandate. I was referring to mandates by private institutions and portions of the federal government. There will be no federal mandate.”

In my opinion Fauci should be relieved of his duties in the government and investigated for his actions relating to funding research at the Chinese Wuhan Lab.

Paleo Republicans have almost universally disgraced themselves. The trend continues.

George W. Bush’s dreadful 9/11 speech

“…Bush did not explicitly say so, but he appeared to be referencing Jan. 6. And he used the rhetorical trick of denying that there was “cultural overlap” between the 9/11 terrorists and the Jan. 6 rioters before outlining areas of such overlap. They were similar in their “disdain for pluralism,” Bush said, their “disregard for human life,” and their “determination to defile national symbols.” In these, Bush argued, not only was there cultural overlap between the two groups — they actually came from “the same foul spirit.”

With that, Bush joined a group of commentators, mostly but not entirely on the left, who maintain that 9/11 and 1/6 are similar. And they do so in the face of the obvious, enormous differences between the two. The Sept. 11 attacks killed roughly 3,000 people, brought down New York’s tallest skyscrapers, destroyed part of the Pentagon, crashed four passenger jetliners, resulted in two wars, and changed U.S. foreign policy for decades. The Jan. 6 riot led to the natural-causes death of one Capitol Police officer, the shooting death of one rioter at the hands of police, the “acute amphetamine intoxication” death of another rioter, and the natural-causes deaths of two more. Had the 9/11 attackers survived, they would have been charged with mass murder. Most of the Jan. 6 rioters have been charged with “Parading, Demonstrating, or Picketing in a Capitol Building.” Parts of the Capitol were ransacked, but not seriously enough that Congress could not meet and finish its election certification work on the night of the riot. The riot was appalling, and the participants deserve punishment, but it was simply nothing like Sept. 11. To visualize the difference, imagine that on the night of the 9/11 attacks, there was a convention that went on as scheduled at the World Trade Center.

The bottom line: There is simply no comparison in scale, act, motivation, or anything else between Sept. 11 and Jan. 6. And yet now, a former president suggests that those two enormously dissimilar events were actually similar, both coming from “the same foul spirit.”…”

I was inclined to give Bush the benefit of the doubt in that he may have been referring to Antifa/BLM looters, rioters, arsonists, etc. But I no longer think he was. He was referring to January 6 rioters alone. I find that disgusting and very telling about how far the paleo Republicans have drifted from the American people and into the Uniparty of Washington D.C. The party of the special governing elites. “Special.” “Elites.”
