A Flagging Campaign Against Justice Alito: The ‘ethics’ attack having failed, the left turns to flag etiquette.

“…It might seem that nothing could top such silliness, but never underestimate an obsessive. This week we are also told—in ominous tones—that Justice Alito in August 2023 sold a small holding of shares in Anheuser-Busch some four months after the company’s decision to broadcast its wokeness by forming a public partnership with a transgender social influencer. Investors had for months been fleeing a stock that was near bottom, so if anything, Justice Alito was behind the trend. Yet this act of portfolio management is now presented as proof that the justice supported an anti-transgender “boycott.”

Democratic politicians and activists are racing to translate these meritless stories into futile actions. Nearly 50 House Democrats on Tuesday signed a letter demanding Justice Alito recuse himself from any Jan. 6-related litigation and for Justice Thomas to join him because his wife works in politics. Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen introduced a resolution of censure against Justice Alito, for not having already recused himself from Jan. 6 cases.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer suggested he may call for a vote on a Democratic bill that would dictate recusal standards for the justices—a challenge to the separation of powers. The activist group Demand Justice says it will spend “six figures” on ads calling on Justice Alito to recuse himself. The group began its effort on Tuesday by unimaginatively projecting an upside-down flag onto the Supreme Court building.

This desperation belies any claim that the left’s interest is in ethics at the high court. The nonstop attacks—week after week—are aimed at altering the outcome of high-profile cases currently in front of the court, including Donald Trump’s claim that presidential immunity shields him from criminal charges related to the Jan. 6 riot. If the activists could force a recusal or two, they might sway a decision. If they fail, as they almost certainly will, they will continue smearing the court and casting doubt on the legitimacy of its decisions, with the longer-term aim of enacting legislation to pack the court by adding new justices when the Democrats control the White House and Congress…”

In a second Trump term, he is sure to get at least one Supreme Court pick and maybe two. Three is not out of the question.

Illinois Senate advances largest spending plan in state history to House

“…In fiscal year 2019, the state spent around $36.4 billion in state taxpayer funds. The proposed plan for fiscal year 2025 that begins July 1 is more than $53 billion. Considering total taxpayer spending, including federal passthrough dollars, in fiscal 2019 taxpayers spent $71.8 billion on Illinois. For fiscal 2025, total spending including federal tax funds will be $124.6 billion.

“And now we’re forced to raise taxes on the people of Illinois and we’re paying for illegal immigrants to come here,” Rose said.

Among the spending is nearly a billion dollars of taxpayer funds for non-citizen migrants. Around $629 million will be for non-citizen health care, $182 million for direct services and $160 million for welcoming centers.

To pay for that, there will be more than $1 billion in tax increases, including $526 million by capping business net operating losses, and $200 million for a tiered sports betting company tax. Removed from the plan is a provision that would have legalized ground-based sparkler fireworks with an excise tax of 3%…”

All the antics, all the government motions are only about PR spin to make it look like Judge Cannon is the villain here. And she knows a lot more that she cannot say bc much of the proceedings are sealed under CIPA rules.

Bratt’s conduct is the subject of a Congressional inquiry, a DOJ OPR probe (haha) and in Judge Cannon’s courtroom.

A dirty case from start to finish–which is why Cannon appointed a special master in Sept 2022 to prevent the sort of corruption now playing out. Misplaced evidence including “classified” files; an unprecedented armed, dangerous, incognito raid of MAL; false representations to the court; and proof of collusion with Biden’s White House long before an official investigation began–just to name a few scandals.

Part of me thinks Smith hopes Cannon will dismiss the case so he can avoid her relentless pursuit of the truth and bringing this bogus case to trial in a jurisdiction far less hostile to Trump than DC or NYC.

Next month will be even more brutal for the special counsel in Florida as he will be forced to defend what some (Ed Meese) consider his unlawful appointment and evidence of collusion between Biden general counsel, NARA, DOJ and FBI to concoct a documents crime against Donald Trump during a series of hearings.

All this in addition to SCOTUS’ likely reversal of 1512c2 in Jan 6 cases, which could impact Smith’s J6 indictment against Trump in Washington, and remanding immunity question back to DC federal court for more clarification, June could be a nightmare for Jack Smith and the DOJ…”
