Five former directors or acting directors of the CIA signed a letter asserting that the laptop, first reported by this newspaper in the weeks before the election, “has all the hallmarks of Russian information operation.”
More than 50 former senior intel officials, including former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, signed the letter, which was used by the Biden campaign and the media to discredit the damning e-mails about Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
The signatories should have thought better of their missive when they felt compelled to include the line, “We want to emphasize that we do not know if the e-mails, provided to the New York Post by President Trump’s personal attorney, are genuine or not, and that we do not have evidence of Russian involvement.”
That also should have tipped off reporters to the fact that the letter was rank speculation masquerading as informed analysis. But true to form, they happily ran with it instead.
In a complete reversal from the Cold War era, journalists in the Trump years have not only reflexively believed representations from national-security professionals about nefarious Russian plots, they have actively sought them out and promoted them…”
These are the same heroes that lied on CNN and MSNBC over and over for 3 years about Trump/Russia collusion calling the President a traitor while at the same time singing a completely different tune under oath behind closed doors. Skunks.

Governor Polis Enables “Auto Renew” for Colorado’s Mask Mandate
“…DENVER, CO—Exhausted by having to manually extend Colorado’s mask mandate each month, Governor Jared Polis logged into the “Governor’s Dashboard” section of the state’s website and set the mandate to automatically renew each month for an additional 30 days.
“I just found this feature. I should’ve done it months ago,” Polis admits. “Everyone knows I’m going to keep extending the mandate, but this way I don’t even have to think about it, it just happens.”
“Come over here and take a look,” exclaimed Polis, as he excitedly offered The Oyster a glimpse of his computer. “All I did was click this button here and, boom, another 30 days with the masks.”
During the demonstration, the governor was quick to point out the additional controls he has at his fingertips. “The interface is pretty slick. I can shut down churches by clicking on this tab. It’s that easy!”
When asked whether greater care and consideration should be taken before making these types of decisions, Polis seemed to ignore the question altogether. ”Check this one out,” he said as he waved us back over, pointing to his monitor. “If I go here, I can click to select which businesses are essential.”
After watching the governor explore the website for an hour, we headed for the door. “Wait,” he yelled. “Which color do you like better to add to the COVID dial? Lilac or Burgundy?”…”

As presidential electors vote today, a few thoughts:
1) it is not a “constitutional crisis” or an effort to “overturn the election” when a candidate challenges initial election results in court. Indeed, such challenges are part of the process, specifically provided for by law. The fact that some people think the challenges are weak on the merits is irrelevant. Al Gore did not concede defeat until well into December 2000, and even then he did not concede that he lost the election–only that George W. Bush had been “selected” president.
2) Polling in December 2016 showed that roughly half of Democrats believed–falsely and without evidence–that Russians had hacked American election tabulators and changed the results of the election.
3) The effort to get state legislatures to appoint slates of electors directly is similar to the effort, wildly popular among large segments of the Democratic Party in 2016, to convince electors to vote for a candidate who did not win their states and for whom they were not pledged–constitutionally permissible, politically catastrophic if successful, but with no chance of success;
4) In every Republican presidential win of the past 30 years–2000, 2004, and 2016–at least one Democratic House member has challenged the Electoral votes when they were counted in January.

I am not ready to fully agree with this article, but it raises an important question – Why have Republican AG’s in the time of Trump been such disappointments?
I think there are limitations on what an AG can do. Sometimes it seems as though Republican AG’s use such strict attention to proprieties that they render themselves ineffective. Barr may have fallen into that trap. It is not an infirmity that afflicts Democrat AG’s. Roger Simon presents a strong case for Barr as failure. I can’t quite get there yet. Let’s see what Durham comes up with.
The Tragic Failure of William Barr
Roger L. Simon:
“…That was the same AG who promised, what seems like decades ago, he would get to the bottom of the reprehensible, treasonous to many, origin of the Trump-Russia investigation, known hereabouts as Spygate.
He assigned John Durham, a reputedly hard-nosed U.S. attorney from Connecticut, to uncover the sources of this outrage and bring the miscreants to justice.
Unfortunately, within that promise soon emerged a hint of trouble to come. Barr informed us that higher officials—meaning, of course, President Barack Obama and Vice-President Biden—were not in Durham’s brief to investigate, although they had attended a fateful meeting in January 2016 from whence much may have flowed.
Some people were evidently above the law.
As justification for this, Barr made it seem he was trying to put an end to the politicization of the Department of Justice and the FBI—and maybe he was …to himself.
Meanwhile, Durham’s investigation dragged on, taking much longer than expected, putatively because of COVID.
But was that so?
Certainly the pandemic caused some inconvenience, but couldn’t grand juries be convened with social distancing and masks? So many other institutions found ways to muddle through.
Some people, we are told, have actually been more productive working from home offices. Surely there was some way of making Zoom secure or other telecommunications as well for Durham’s purposes.
Apparently not enough. The delay continued and continues to this day.
And then the Hunter Biden affair broke into the headlines with the discovery of Hunter’s laptop and the so far uncontested testimony of Biden family business partner Tony Bobulinski, implicating Joe as the “big guy” in dealings with the communist Chinese.
More news broke shortly thereafter that the FBI had had the laptop in its possession for over a year.
This was followed by a leak a couple of months later, interestingly after Joe Biden had “won” the presidential election, that Hunter and James Biden (Joe’s brother) had been under investigation by the IRS and presumably the DOJ for tax evasion and money laundering for some time, much of this involving those same Chinese communists.
William Barr had been mum throughout.
The mainstream media, reliable neo-Stalinists that they are, never reported on any of this when Bobulinski went public. Even now, after the leak, they barely discuss it.
A large portion of the American public had no idea of the Biden Family Scandal when they went to vote on Nov. 3, 2020 or, even more, when they dropped those endless mail-in ballots in whatever boxes.
Polls have appeared indicating a significant number would have voted differently had they known. It was a close election, assuming Biden actually won.
Yet William Barr has remained silent.
His excuse again is that the DOJ should not get involved in politics. Or was he too angry at Donald Trump for meddling in his affairs?
Or perhaps it was a devotion to an institution rather than the American people for whom transparency is needed more than ever.
Whatever the case, that is exactly what he has done, inadvertently or not and despite his denials—get involved in politics.
