Kurt Schlichter rips woke military leadership

Send the Incompetent Brass a Message: Don’t Enlist

“…Sometimes they need to learn by pain. There are only two ways we patriots can force our failed military leadership to learn its lesson until 2024, when we get a real president in office who is not bedazzled by medals and impressed by a bunch of guys who had two decades to exterminate a crew of fanatical banditos and failed. We can starve the brass of treasure, but expecting the Republicans to impose that penalty in the wake of the Afghanistan debacle is – to evoke another famous failure of planning and arrogance – a bridge too far. Or we can starve them of blood – our kids’ blood, which for too long has been put at unnecessary risk by unserious military senior leaders consumed by unserious elite fetishes like “white rage” and “climate change” at the same time the Chi Coms are seriously prepping a slaughter of our troops that you can barely conceive of.

Don’t enlist or recommend others enlist, not until there is a real change in the collective mind of the military leadership that indicates that they have learned their lesson. But words cannot be enough – we need to see the same kind of massive convulsion and reform that we saw after the last Democrat/Pentagon betrayal in Vietnam. My generation of officers learned from the guys who rebuilt a ruined military, torn by careerism, lethargy, internal dissension, and the incorporation of society’s low standards in an effort to entice recruits with bribes instead of offering the rigors of service. During the Gulf War, I watched those reformers move a half million Americans (including me and my heavily armed carwash platoon) halfway around the world to the middle of a desert and then sweep an entire national army off the battlefield in 100 hours. But that was 30 years ago. This year, I watched our military bumble our way out of a disaster of our own making, leaving behind our citizens and our credibility while bringing home 13 heroes in metal cases…”

Many in the political and media establishment have cast the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol as one of the darkest episodes in American history. Is it that?

Introducing RealClearInvestigations’ Jan. 6-BLM Riots Dataset

“…comparing an episode in which one person was slain (a protester shot by police) to 9/11, Pearl Harbor, the Civil War, and the British sacking of the capital city in 1814. Seizing on the gravity of a mob trying to interfere with the process of recording Electoral College votes after a presidential election, Democrats impeached Donald Trump over the Jan. 6 breach and put him on trial in the Senate. Democrats have also spearheaded a congressional investigation – one focused on the former president – that will likely stretch into next election season.

Republicans, Trump supporters, and others see a double standard at play in Democrats’ emphasis on Jan. 6. They note that many Democrats cheered nationwide protests and some even put up bail after the May 2020 murder of George Floyd, a black man, by a white police officer — prolonged unrest that generated far more death and destruction. They argue that groups associated with the summer’s violence, such as Black Lives Matter and Antifa, themselves aim to subvert democracy, and acted accordingly in targeting cops, public offices, and private businesses.

The electorate itself is divided, but doesn’t necessarily view this issue as an either/or choice. Polling shows that a large majority of Americans support the idea of examining the causes of both the 2020 summer riots in America’s cities and the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

It is clear, then, that many Americans see two sides to this story. In keeping with its mission to fill gaps in press coverage, RealClearInvestigations is launching a running compendium of data, with hyperlinked sourcing, comparing the damage done on Jan. 6, and the subsequent treatment of those accused of perpetrating it, with two other recent events: the summer 2020 riots and – in some ways a closer analogy – the all-but-forgotten riot in Washington on Inauguration Day 2017, as protesters challenged Donald Trump’s election and legitimacy much as Jan. 6 rioters challenged Joe Biden’s.

RealClearInvestigations has found that:

    • The summer 2020 riots resulted in some 15 times more injured police officers, 30 times as many arrests, and estimated damages in dollar terms up to 1,300 times more costly than those of the Capitol riot. George Floyd rioters were found to have used more sophisticated and dangerous tactics than did the Capitol rioters, and in some cases weapons of greater lethality.
    • Authorities have pursued the largely Trump-supporting Capitol rioters with substantially more vigor than suspected wrongdoers in the earlier two cases. Many accused Capitol rioters, unlike accused participants in the other riots, have been held in pretrial detention for months – with one defendant serving more time than the maximum sentence for the charge to which he pleaded guilty. Some allegedly endured solitary confinement and other mistreatment.
    • With authorities applying lenient prosecutorial standards in many major cities torn by the summer riots, the vast majority of charges last year were dismissed, as were charges in the Inauguration 2017 unrest. Charges have to date been dropped in only a single Capitol riot case.

Satirical story of the day – “…a devastating decline in cheating…”

Why don’t Biden’s handlers that give him stage directions tell him not to repeat the stage directions? He’s kind of a doddering old fool.

Boy the pendulum of political popularity sure swings back and forth

The inimitable David Burge on the new term for tornadoes “twisty boys”

Is this headline satire or the real concern of the U.S. State Department?

State Department voices concerns over all-male Taliban government

Hard to tell?

We are governed by idiots.

We live in the age of stupid.

The CDC has transitioned from a scientific organization to a political organization advancing the policies of the Democrat party.

The CDC Just Made an Orwellian Change to the Definition of ‘Vaccine’ and ‘Vaccination’

“…For your entire life, you’ve known that when you get vaccinated, you’re protected from a particular disease. You’ve probably been vaccinated for such diseases as polio, tetanus, measles, diphtheria, and others, and you no longer have to worry about them, because the whole reason your parents took to the doctor to get those shots was to protect from those diseases. Polio, in particular, has been completely wiped out in the United States thanks to the immunity created by vaccination.

This is why the CDC says that vaccines provide immunity, which means that we can be exposed to a disease without becoming infected by it.

At least they used to.

A recent change on the CDC website should disturb all of us because it appears that the CDC is trying to change how we understand vaccinations.

Here’s the “Definition of Terms” for Immunization as captured on August 26, 2021. I’ve highlighted the key points.

Immunity: Protection from an infectious disease. If you are immune to a disease, you can be exposed to it without becoming infected.

Vaccine: A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting the person from that disease. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but can also be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.

Vaccination: The act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce immunity to a specific disease.

Immunization: A process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination. This term is often used interchangeably with vaccination or inoculation.

These definitions have been in place since at least May 16, 2018.

Now, here’s the “Definition of Terms” for Immunization now, which was updated on September 1, 2021, with changes highlighted.

Immunity: Protection from an infectious disease. If you are immune to a disease, you can be exposed to it without becoming infected.

Vaccine: A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune response against diseases. Vaccines are usually administered through needle injections, but some can be administered by mouth or sprayed into the nose.

Vaccination: The act of introducing a vaccine into the body to produce protection from a specific disease.

Immunization: A process by which a person becomes protected against a disease through vaccination. This term is often used interchangeably with vaccination or inoculation.

So, up until last week, a vaccine went from being something that “produces immunity to a specific disease” to something that merely “stimulates the body’s immune response against diseases,” and a vaccination no longer “produces immunity” to a disease, just “protection” from a disease…”

Psatire?

Psaki: ‘There Are No American Hostages, Just People Being Detained Against Their Will Until Their Captors’ Demands Are Met’

“…WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a press conference this morning, Press secretary Jen Psaki proudly confirmed that everyone has made it safely out of Afghanistan and there are no hostages at all.

“The people at the Kabul airport are not hostages,” said Psaki. “It would be very irresponsible for us to call them hostages. The word ‘hostage’ sounds like something from a bad action movie or something. These are merely people being detained against their will until their captors’ demands are met. That’s not the same thing as being a hostage at all.”…”

Liberals claim Kamala Harris stepdaughter is a new fashion icon. Is she?

Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff stuns fans with a new look they didn’t see coming

“…She’s moving up in the world of fashion…”

Democrats, and libs in general, always seem to think they are the center of the universe. I wonder if that is true.

Below: The confused pouty teenager look. Skinny, poorly groomed, low quality clothing thrown together with little effort. Slightly defiant to known authority, but overall subservient and looking for guidance. She could be the next western convert to the Taliban. New fashion trend? You decide.

What does fashion look like?

Science and faith are not interchangeable and should not be mixed or confused one for the other.

Global warming or its new rebranding “Climate Change” is not a faith based idea. It is a nominal scientific theory that has been captured by the Left and used for political purposes. The truth of the theory is not proved. The theory is not generally accepted, although some warming may be occurring. The benefits of attempting to change global or even local climate have not been demonstrated. The ability to change climate is a folly and vanity of man.

The Pope is out of his league. I don’t doubt his faith in God or love for the Earth. I doubt his judgement about scientific matters.

Is the CDC a science organization or a political organization? Why would Americans listen to medical advice from a political organization?

Echoing woke universities, CDC releases ‘non-stigmatizing language’ guide.

    • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a “non-stigmatizing language” guide.
    • For years, top colleges across the United States have issued similar guides to students.

Has any government organization fallen faster or farther in terms of trust and reputation than the CDC?

Headline of the day

Biden Declares Climate Change a Pressing Issue After 48 Years in Government

“…“Climate change poses an existential threat,” said Biden, raising his voice. “It’s here, it’s not going to get any better,” he added while insisting “we can stop it from getting worse.” If the Left’s climate agenda isn’t accomplished, Biden threatened, “the storms are gonna get worse and worse and worse.”

For his own record, then-Senator Biden voted against more stringent fuel efficiency standards a handful of times. And Biden’s words Tuesday suggest his time as Vice President in the Obama administration accomplished little to nothing. After all, if American policy could save the planet, wouldn’t eight years of Obama and Biden in the White House — which included negotiating the Paris Climate Agreement — have mitigated damage like that he spent Tuesday surveying?

“We’ve gotta listen to the scientists* and economists,” Biden admonished. “They tell us this is code red.”

“The world is in peril,” Biden claimed, insisting “that’s not hyperbole.”

Among Biden’s recommendations to solve the climate change he lamented is to, “by 2020, make sure all of our electricity is zero emissions,” a deadline we passed nine months ago…”

I thought it was “10 years to save the planet”

It’s been the same ten years over and over for the last 30 years.

Just Democrat politics. Just like every shooting is used for political purposes, every storm or fire will be used for political purposes.

Some people need a giant monster to focus on. Other people need a giant monster for political purposes.

Kurt Schlichter, in his inimitable way, briefly sums up the Texas abortion law and its effects on libs.

The New Rules Bite Libs Right in the Uterus

“…You know, there was a time when I might have thought that the Texas legislature’s creative lawmaking that lets random people sue those facilitating abortions was against my principles. But that was before “principles” became nothing more than a cynical codeword designed to tie our hands as the libs pillaged through our society like a bunch of hopped-up Visigoths who just got into Hunter’s secret stash.

The new rule is that you use your power ruthlessly to defeat your opponent. And so, I’m totally comfortable with it. The Dems, not so much – this legislative suppository is shaped like a starfish and it ain’t going in easy…”

State Dept. won’t give private rescue flights OK to leave Afghanistan

“…”The State Department said it will not formally approve the departure of chartered planes from Afghanistan carrying Americans and allies — complicating efforts by private citizens to complete the evacuation of the left-behind, according to an email obtained by Fox News.”…

…“Since the American military’s withdrawal from Afghanistan ended Aug. 30, private citizens and nonprofit groups have scrambled to arrange transportation out of Taliban-controlled territory for the dozens of American citizens and estimated thousands of Afghans who assisted US-led NATO forces during the two-decade-long war. White House press secretary Jen Psaki argued last week that the notion that the Biden administration was stopping such initiatives was incorrect.”…”
