This exposes how shallow the anti-gun movement is. It is feelings and emotions. Get down to the details, and they have no idea what the talking points they mouth in public actually mean. Ideologues don’t really care about effective policy, they care about perceived intent of policy. And the perceived intent they seek results in moral acceptance from other like-minded ideologues.
