Toxic femininity. Where is the concern over a man’s pain at being falsely accused.

Toxic femininity. Where is the concern over a man’s pain at being falsely accused.

Roger Simon:
“…Nevertheless, we live in a time of consummate selfishness and evil. Almost nothing is done with clean hands or pure motivation. Few, if anyone, think about others — in this case even about their very young and impressionable sisters. Christine Blasey Ford is a poster woman for the worst, most narcissistic end of the #MeToo movement…”

Paul Mirengoff:
“…What to do? Unless the leadership believes this woman, it should press ahead with the confirmation process. Let Republican members sort out the mess. If GOP Senators defect ahead of the vote, the nomination should be pulled. If not, the Senate should vote.
If this claim sinks Kavanaugh, there should be enough time — almost three months — to nominate and confirm another candidate even if the GOP loses control of the Senate.
What not to do? Delay the proceedings. Democrats will demand that the hearings be reopened so they can question Kavanaugh about Ford’s claim. But Democrats had a chance to question him about the claims and failed to do so. In any event, Kavanaugh has issued a blanket denial. We know his side and we know the woman’s side.
If Kavanaugh can’t get to 50 votes unless the process is stalled — i.e. if swing Republican Senators demand delay — then his nomination should be pulled. The object here is to confirm a conservative jurist, not to confirm Brett Kavanaugh. Thus, the leadership should not agree to anything that will prevent confirmation of a nominee before the end of the year…”

“…When gas prices topped $4 per gallon in May 2011, President Barack Obama said, “We can’t just drill our way out of the problem.”
Throughout his presidency, Obama stated some version of that sentiment every time he wanted to push to subsidize alternative energy sources.
More than seven years later, human ingenuity, technological innovation, and the power of the free market have proven him wrong. To the benefit of American families across the country, the United States is now the largest global producer of crude oil.
According to a report from the federal government’s Energy Information Administration this week, U.S. crude oil production surpassed that of Saudi Arabia and Russia. When Obama made his statement in May 2011, U.S. monthly production was 174 million barrels (5.67 million barrels per day). In June 2018, monthly production stood at 320.23 million barrels (10.67 million barrels per day).
The dramatic increase in supply shows drilling is not just a “bumper sticker” slogan, as Obama called it in his weekly address in February 2012, but a path to energy independence, prosperity, and jobs…”
The democrats in the senate have found a liberal activist professor willing to make up a story about Judge Kavanaugh from about 30 or 40 years ago. She made no claim of wrong doing at the time. This is the first time this story has come to light. It is as despicable as it gets. History seems to repeat. This is the same trick Biden and his despicable cohorts tried on Justice Thomas. Hopefully the weak-kneed republicans in the senate can weather the storm. That is by no means certain.

“…Democrats and their media allies seeking to advance a liberal political agenda corrupted the FBI and Justice Department in improperly spying on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence said this week.
Rep. Devin Nunes (R., Calif.), the intelligence panel head who has spearheaded an investigation into corruption at the FBI, also warned in a speech that China has emerged as the most serious strategic threat facing the United States…”

“…Every time a conservative jurist is nominated to the Supreme Court, he’s accused of perpetrating some heinous deed or harboring some reprehensible opinion. Neil Gorsuch was a plagiarist. Sam Alito was a racist and a sexist. John Roberts supported abortion clinic bombers. Clarence Thomas liked to talk about weird sex to female subordinates. Robert Bork was one of the worst people who ever lived.
Brett Kavanaugh was subjected to some of the most mindlessly tendentious treatment we’ve ever witnessed in a Senate confirmation hearing. Particularly memorable was Cory Booker’s demand that Kavanaugh explain a 16-year-old email on racial profiling without telling Kavanaugh what the email said (Booker claimed he couldn’t release the email although he had been cleared to do so—then released it as though he were breaking Senate rules). Kamala Harris cleverly edited a video to make it sound as though he considered birth control and abortion-inducing drugs the same thing, then posted the video on Twitter and claimed Kavanaugh was “going after birth control.”
We thought, though, that Kavanaugh would escape the confirmation process without a full-on smear of his personal character. We should have known better…”

“…On Thursday, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that nearly half of the state attorneys general would be invited to a September 25 meeting with U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions to discuss whether social media companies are violating anti-trust laws. The DOJ announced the meeting last week, following the congressional testimony of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.
“Following last week’s statement, the Justice Department received an increased level of interest from state attorneys general in attending the September 25 meeting on tech companies, competition, and free exchange of ideas,” a DOJ spokesman told PJ Media on Thursday afternoon. Due to this increased interest, Sessions has invited more attorneys general…”
“…“When it comes to extreme weather, Mr. Trump is complicit,” it read. “He plays down humans’ role in increasing the risks, and he continues to dismantle efforts to address those risks. It is hard to attribute any single weather event to climate change. But there is no reasonable doubt that humans are priming the Earth’s systems to produce disasters.”
In fact there are many questions as to what extent human activity is warming the Earth, though there is a verifiable warming trend, but that’s obviously not the most egregious charge made in the editorial.
To say that President Trump is complicit for this particular hurricane is a stretch, a distortion, a falsity and a swirling storm of mindless bombast. Not to mention highly irresponsible.
But the goal of the editorial, if not the paper, is to convince Americans that Donald Trump is the enemy of the people…”

“…UNRWA’s original mandate was to care for the displaced Arabs of 1948 and it is fair to say that it has pretty much accomplished that mission. Nearly all of the 1948 refugees spent the last half century of their lives in UNRWA camps (which grew into permanent neighborhoods and sprawling villages) in Jordan, where they received citizenship, Syria, Lebanon and Gaza. It wasn’t a great existence, but the UNRWA provided a place to live, ample food, free medical care and schooling.
Those refugees are mostly gone now; only a few tens of thousands are still alive. But bureaucracies do not disappear just because their mission is complete. And so UNRWA found itself a new mission. It became a perpetual refugee-making machine, registering the children, grand-children and great-grand-children as bona fide refugees. The number ballooned to 5.4 million today from 700,000 in 1948. The U.S. provides about a quarter the agency’s annual budget.
UNRWA did nothing to help resettle these second, third and fourth generation refugees. It allowed its camps to be become a staging ground for terrorism. Worst of all, it educated students to believe that justice demanded armed liberation of their ancestral lands from the Zionist usurpers. Propagating the doctrine has been self-destructive, both to UNRWA and the people it supposedly serves…”
“…As the fight over Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the US Supreme Court unfolded this summer, consuming most of the oxygen available for judge-related punditry and spurring millions of dollars in ad spending by outside groups, the Senate confirmed more than two dozen of President Donald Trump’s judicial picks to lifetime appointments with little fanfare.
Twenty-six federal appeals and district court judges secured seats on the federal bench in the two months since Trump announced Kavanaugh as his latest Supreme Court nominee. That’s more than the number of judges confirmed in the first half of the year, and more than the number of judges confirmed in all of 2017.
Getting a second justice confirmed to the Supreme Court is a legacy-defining priority for the Trump administration. That White House counsel Don McGahn and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell managed to also pick up the pace on lower court judges while shepherding through Kavanaugh’s high-profile and contentious nomination underscores their shared drive to transform the entire federal judiciary while Republicans have the numbers in the Senate to do so.
The latest batch of newly confirmed judges includes five appeals court nominees. Only a small fraction of cases make it up to the Supreme Court, so the White House and Senate Republicans have placed a premium on getting seats filled on the circuit courts, where most cases end. Democrats over the summer agreed to expedite votes on 21 district court judges — a mix of nominees from red and blue states — to the dismay of liberals who want Democrats to use what limited tools they have left to hold up Trump’s picks. Two of the new district court judges received rare “not qualified” ratings from the American Bar Association…”
