Echoing campus leftists, CDC director says racism is a ‘public health’ crisis

“…A man accused of a wave of terror against Jewish institutions is walking the streets of New York again without putting up any bail money, even after one judge demanded a $20,000 bail or $30,000 security bond. In a startling pair of judicial rulings within hours of each other, at first:
A Bronx judge went rogue on Sunday and ordered the accused Riverdale synagogue vandal held on $20,000 bail — even though prosecutors insisted the man had to be sprung under the state’s controversial bail-reform laws.
Jordan Burnette, 29, was hit with 42 charges, including a number of hate crime–related offenses for allegedly smashing windows at various synagogues and swiping prayer books during an 11-day crime spree.
But none of the charges require him to be held on bail, prosecutors noted at his arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court.
“Given the number of attacks, we probably would have asked for substantial bail before January of 2020,” Assistant District Attorney Theresa Gottlieb told Judge Louis Nock…”
You can’t make it up.
Democrats must control every aspect of your life.
They do it for your own good.
Just thank them.
At the voting booth.
“…Immigration and Customs Enforcement is taking over seven hotels near the southern border starting Friday as the federal agency begins placing migrant families released from Border Patrol custody into the hotels.
Hundreds of people who illegally came over the U.S.-Mexico border with a family member will be placed in hotels in El Paso, Texas, and Chandler, Arizona, this Friday as the Biden administration spends tens of millions of dollars to house people despite having its own holding centers, according to internal documents reviewed by the Washington Examiner. ICE has not revealed whether the families will be sent back to their home countries or released into the United States…”

“…WASHINGTON (7News) — The U.S. Department of Defense has denied a parking permit to the American Veterans or AmVets to stage a rallying point at the Pentagon ending a 32-year-old tradition on Memorial Day weekend for Rolling To Remember.
Now AmVets will try and secure RFK Stadium as an alternative staging area.
AmVets Executive Director Joe Chenelly tells the 7 News I-Team he received a call from the Pentagon Friday afternoon saying “A gentleman at the Pentagon told me that after careful consideration, our permit application was denied. He said considerations involved the continued spread of COVID-19 in the region and the nature of our event being that we are proposing a large gathering for an extended period of time.”…”

“…Texas political data expert Derek Ryan laid out the facts of the election on social media Saturday night: “Here’s what you need to know about the Austin camping ban proposition as it heads towards victory. Only 20% of early voters were Republican Primary voters. 55% were Democrat Primary voters. The remaining had no primary history but based on modeling data, 75% of that group skewed Democrat.
Assuming every Republican Primary voter and modeled Republican voter voted for the camping ban, they still only make up 40% of the ‘yes’ votes.”
Austin has roundly rejected radical Mayor Steve Adler, radical Councilman Greg Casar, and one of their signature changes to the city: allowing tent cities to spring up all over town, and lawlessness along with that. Austin’s Democratic voters led the way in rejecting Adler and Casar.
Over the past several years, Adler and Casar have led the council into the tent cities debacle and defunding the police, among other destructive far-left changes. Violent crime is sharply up and police officers are leaving APD at an unsustainable pace. May’s election suggests the city is waking up to the destruction their policies are having on the city and are looking for a different direction. District 6 elected Republican Mackenzie Kelly in a runoff in December 2020, rejecting one of the city council’s most vocal radicals. The question after that and Saturday’s election result is what effect it will have on the other members of the city council. How will they read the election and respond to it?
Austin’s voters are clearly moving decisively away from Adler and Casar…”

“…JERUSALEM—John Kerry recently made a trip to Israel for climate talks but was delayed at the border. According to sources, Israeli forces asked him to remove his explosive vest before entering the country.
“Mr. Kerry, sir, would you mind removing that explosive suicide vest you’re wearing before you enter?” said an IDF soldier.
“How DARE you, young man! I… am John Kerry,” said John Kerry. “This is a mere fashion item! I, John Kerry, would never purchase explosives in Iran and attempt to sneak them into your fine country to become a martyr for the glorious nuclear world power of Iran! How dare you accuse me, John Forbes Kerry, of such a thing!”…”

I have no sympathy for this disappointment of a man. He deserves everything he got. This should be a warning to other paleo-Republicans who think they have standing in the party.

“…Earlier this week, a pair of black Penn State University professors reported a “noose” in a tree behind their house.
As reported by the PSU student newspaper Daily Collegian, the professors said the incident was “deeply distressing to them and their family.”
The Centre Daily Times notes the profs believed the “noose” was “deliberately placed [on the tree] to harass them.”
Responding to the profs’ call about “possible harassment,” Patton Township Police Department collected the “noose” and began investigating around the neighborhood.
PSU President Eric Barron sprung into action, posting a statement “expressing concern” about the incident and “offering support.”
“[T]he incident underscores the importance of our anti-racism work as a University, and as a community of scholars,” Barron wrote. “It also underscores the importance of our town-gown work to build a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all who live here. Groups like Community & Campus in Unity that have formed the Centre Region Anti-bias Coalition are critical to helping create a climate of acceptance and support.”
Alas, according to the professors’ neighbor who was interviewed by police, the “noose” actually was part of a swing set. The neighbors’ kid told police he merely had thrown the rope “into the woods.”
Patton Police Chief Tyler Jolley concluded there was “no malice” involved. The department added “no kind of crime [was] committed at all” and that the rope just “happened” to fall on the tree…”
