Back in 2019 when Kamala dropped out of the presidential race, the media critiqued her campaign's messaging:

To the extent they can, Democrats will allow their flying monkey media allies to create a new persona for Kamala. The persona is carefully crafted in cooperation and consultation with media and based on polling of preferred interest groups Democrats think they need in 2024. It is easier and more effective to craft a new persona without the the empty vessel appearing in public and talking.
