The Democrat cult of abortion gets more extreme…

Babies could be killed 28 days after birth under proposed Maryland law, attorney warns

“…Senate Bill 669 could be interpreted to allow for abortions through the first month after the baby is born, a legal analyst says…

…Legislation proposed in the Maryland Senate would allow babies to be left to die for as long as the first 28 days after birth, according to analysis from a pro-life attorney.

Senate Bill 669 is also known as the Pregnant Person’s Freedom Act of 2022, but the problems go beyond the use of “person” in place of accurate references to women having babies. Senator William Smith, a Democrat, sponsored the legislation, which will have a hearing on March 15.

“[T]he bill also proposes a revision of the fetal murder/manslaughter statute that would serve to handcuff the investigation of infant deaths unrelated to abortion,” American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) attorney Olivia Summers wrote in her analysis.

This is because the legislation prohibits investigations and criminal prosecutions for women and medical professionals for a “failure to act” in relation to a “perinatal death.”

“In other words, a baby born alive and well could be abandoned and left to starve or freeze to death,” Summers wrote, “and nothing could be done to punish those who participated in that cruel death.”

She said that the language used is unclear, so the law could be interpreted to “prevent investigations into the death of infants at least seven days AFTER their birth, and may extend to infants as old as four weeks!”…”

Msgr. Carlo Maria Viganò has an important piece on the Russia-Ukraine conflict

A Message from Abp. Viganò, Former Apostolic Nuncio to the U.S.

“…Nothing is lost with peace. All can be lost with war. Let men return to understanding. Let them resume negotiating. Negotiating with good will and with respect for each other’s rights, let them realize that an honorable success is never precluded when there are sincere and active negotiations. And they will feel great – with true greatness – if imposing silence on the voices of passion, whether collective or private, and leaving reason to its proper domain, they will spare their brothers bloodshed and their homeland ruin.

Thus it was that on August 24, 1939, Pius XII addressed both rulers and peoples as war was imminent. These were not words of empty pacifism, nor of complicit silence about the multiple violations of justice that were being carried out in many quarters. In that radio message, which some people still remember hearing, the appeal of the Roman Pontiff invoked “respect for each other’s rights” as a prerequisite for fruitful peace negotiations…”

There is too much to excerpt here. It is worth your time to click the link and read the piece. I don’t agree with all of it, but the Archbishop presents a look at the various aspects of the situation that our biased, nitwit media does not provide.

In a coercive mass experiment, governments opened a Pandora’s box of harms

Public Health Erred on the Side of Catastrophe

Brian McGlinchey:

“…Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, proponents of lockdowns, shelter-in-place orders, mask mandates and other coercive government interventions have characterized these measures as benevolently “erring on the side of caution.”

Now, as the grim toll of those public health measures comes into ever-sharper focus, it’s increasingly clear those characterizations were terribly wrong.

What’s less readily apparent, however, is how the very use of the “erring on the side of caution” framing was injurious in itself—by thwarting reasoned debate of public health policies, diverting attention from unintended consequences, and buffering the Covid regime’s architects from accountability.

To understand how the misuse of “erring on the side of caution” performed a sort of mass hypnosis that coaxed populations into two years of submission to disastrous, overreaching policies, consider how the expression is typically used.

In everyday life, one might err on the side of caution by:

    • Leaving for the airport an extra 30 minutes early
    • Carrying an umbrella when there’s a 25% chance of rain
    • Opting for a less-challenging ski slope
    • Going back into the house to make sure the iron is unplugged
    • Getting a second medical opinion

Generally speaking, “erring on the side of caution” in everyday life means lowering risk with a precaution that has a negligible cost.

When mandate proponents portrayed their edicts as “erring on the side of caution,” it had the effect of tacitly assuring the public—and themselves—that there’d be little or no harm associated with extreme measures like:

    • Shutting down businesses for months at a time
    • Knowingly forcing millions of people into unemployment
    • Halting in-person attendance at schools and colleges
    • Ordering people of all ages and risk profiles to wear masks
    • Denying people opportunities to socialize, recreate and enjoy living

That implicit low-downside assurance not only fostered unthinking support for draconian measures among citizens and experts alike, it also cultivated an atmosphere of intolerance toward those who questioned the wisdom of these interventions and predicted the great many harms that have resulted…”

The great “Covid 180.” It’s starting.

Here’s why. Data shows masks, shutdowns, and vaccines did nothing.

US/Mexico border disguised as Ukrainian border so Democrats will defend it. Is this satire?

An analysis of the failure of Russian military leadership. Failed logistics.

The Failed Logistics Of The Russian Invasion

Lawrence Person:

    • Ukrainian forces destroyed all rail links between the two countries.
    • Russian forces are relying on analog, unsecured radio communications rather than scrambled digital channels, and Ukrainian forces are listening in and jamming.
    • Poor logistics also helped Soviet forces lose in Afghanistan.
    • Russia has 30,000 strong military rail organization.
    • “Russia doesn’t have enough trucks.” They can’t operate effectively more than 90 miles from supply dumps.
    • A large percentage of truck transport was dedicated to rocket resupply, not fuel and food.
    • Russia only had 3-5 days of supplies when they invaded. When those ran out, they were screwed.
    • Russia’s military works on a “push” logistic system rather than a “pull” system used by the U.S. military, mean it’s not very flexible.
    • Russia has the capability to set up the infrastructure for a longer war, but it’s going to take time.
    • Russia’s failure to quickly achieve it’s objectives has seen it resort to more desperate and indiscriminate tactics.

I think the failure runs deeper than this. Russian war equipment is apparently poorly maintained and has low serviceability. Russian air forces appear to be at a low standard in terms of battlespace awareness, serviceable aircraft, and concentration on tactical and strategic goals. Russian leadership seems wooden and unresponsive to changing battlefield conditions. Russian soldiers appear to have low moral and low will to fight. Russian leadership appears to have underestimated the Ukrainians’ response and willingness to fight; underestimated the NATO response; underestimated the world’s response. Russian nuclear threats reveal a lack of confidence in their ability to wage the war they started.

Political lawfare is largely an invention of the left. They have certainly perfected it.

There must be accountability for Covid crazy.

Why we must demand that leaders who got COVID wrong admit it and apologize

“…You, leadership in school districts that closed for the entirety of the 2020-2021 school year because American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten told you to — and you were too afraid to counter. Whether school boards, mayors or governors, those in charge who kept schools closed have to be held accountable.

It wasn’t that the teachers unions were strong, it was that you were weak. It was a dereliction of your duty. Apologize.

But, of course, you couldn’t have done it without cover from our politicized health agencies. You, Rochelle Walensky at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, allowed Weingarten to craft absurd, unscientific policies that kept kids out of school.

You let her block the schoolhouse door because you were on the same political team. You broke the trust Americans had in their health agencies and we will all suffer the repercussions of that for a long time.

Apologize to the children whose lives you’ve stunted and who may never recover from the educational loss. Apologize to the kids who received speech therapy through masks because you refused to acknowledge that masking had been pointless in stopping COVID-19 spread.

You may have permanently damaged these children because you refused to admit that you had been wrong for so long. Apologize.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, you fell in love with your own image and could not stay off the TV even as it caused us all harm.

In November 2021, you said that people who were criticizing you were “really criticizing science, because I represent science. That’s dangerous.” What’s dangerous is if you really believe that.

You frequently got things wrong on TV or reversed your previous comments with no explanations. The science hadn’t changed, you made political calculations to support the diktats of the Biden administration.

You actually argued for the passage of the stimulus bill as if you were some kind of lobbyist and not the director of one of our national health agencies.

Worst of all, you shut down dissenting opinions from other scientists because you knew yours could not withstand scrutiny. You have been a disaster for this country in leading us through the pandemic.

Apologize. Then exit stage left and let us never hear from you again.

You fearful, quiet politicians who let extended lockdowns destroy businesses, fray the fabric of our cities and cost us all so much: We saw you maskless, at concerts and parties, while our 2-year-olds stay masked to this day.

We know that you didn’t actually think masking was important like you implored us it was. You loved your power and nothing else mattered. Apologize.

And you, compliant media, the disaster of the last two years is at your feet. You created heroes out of people like Gov. Andrew Cuomo, whose nursing home directive cost thousands of lives, while demonizing Gov. Ron DeSantis, who used all of his political capital to correctly force schools open, a decision everyone now pretends was easy but certainly was not.

You ran stories about high case numbers in Florida “as schools open” to project that schools were somehow unsafe. You were incurious and did not ever challenge the corrupt health care agencies. You let us down.

Don’t apologize, we don’t believe you anyway…”
