Trump blasts media, Obama for being ‘duped’ by China in another epic repudiation of ‘fake news’ CNN

Jon Dougherty:

“…The establishment media has consistently utilized President Donald Trump’s coronavirus briefings as a platform for ‘performance journalism,’ rife with ‘gotcha’ questions that are primarily designed to attack him rather than actually inform the American people.

And one more than one occasion, now that these briefings have stretched into weeks, the president has had his fill of the nonsense.

Like on Sunday.

After being accused by CNN reporter Jeremy Diamond of being more focused on his administration’s coronavirus achievements than ‘the death toll’ everyone in the Washington press corps wants us to endlessly focus on, Trump had had enough.

“Can you explain why you come out here and you are reading clips and showing clips of praise for you and your administration? Is this really the time for self-congratulations?” Diamond asked — the implication being, of course, that Trump doesn’t give a damn about Americans who have died, which is patently and obviously absurd, given what he’s done to try to save people.

“What I’m doing is standing up for the men and women that have done an incredible job,” Trump replied, adding “I’m also sticking up for doctors and nurses and military doctors and nurses.”

“Those people have been just absolutely excoriated by some of the fake news, like you.” Trump continued, adding “You’re CNN, you’re fake news. And let me just tell you, they were excoriated by people like you that don’t know any better because you don’t have the brains you were born with.”…”
